Adidas Tennis Hu Review

After Adidas’s very successful collaboration with Pharrell Williams with the NMD Human Race comes the second in their partnership, the Adidas Tennis Hu.

The NMD styling was very bold and quite ahead of its time, using bright colours, big logos and unusual lace placement which divided sneakerheads across the world. The Tennis Hu is more reserved but with good reason, tennis is, after all strict about what you can and cannot wear, especially in tournaments like Wimbledon.

The Adidas Tennis Hu released on the 6th of May and came in two colourways, firstly the white and green, taking it’s inspiration clearly from the Stan Smith style, the second came with a bright yellow.

I managed to find a pair on the Adidas website on the morning of the release knowing that these had a limited stock. The first thing you notice when you un-box them is how light they are, noticeably lighter than the NMDs. The main upper is prime knit and there are some nice details on the sides where there’s 3 slits giving the illusion of the 3 Adidas stripes and it doesn’t end there. The way the laces are held together is unique having a thread stitched into the primeknit as appose to holes.

While I absolutely love the look of these Adidas Tennis Hu’s they do lose they shape more than any other shoe I own, which isn’t a good thing as my feet stick out to the side.

This is a great second collaboration release from Adidas and bringing a modern twist to a well known classic, try and cop a pair if you can these are a must for summer!
