I don’t tend to post much in the way of work related content on my blog and certainly don’t hide from the fact I work at Farfetch, which I have for for many years, since it was a small business. My team are responsible for a number of different digital marketing areas and one of those is working with influencers and bloggers, creating amazing experiences.
Our most recent influencer/blogger campaign was a partnership with the recrafting legend The Shoe Surgeon, headed by Dominic Chambrone. We had a great guest list on the night with influencers from all around the world in attendance; from China, Japan, Denmark, US and of course the UK. The Shoe Surgeon and his team put on a workshop in the heart of Shoreditch London, giving guests an opportunity to get creative and re-purpose one of the luxury sneakers available at Farfetch.
In preparation The Shoe Surgeon had also fully re-purposed four sneakers beforehand which were on display, looking at the craftsmanship the detail was truly amazing. The four shoes were; Maison Mariela Replica’s, adidas Y3’s, adidas by RAF SIMONS and Y3 Qasa’s, you can see photos of the four shoes and from the event below, which will be available to buy on Farfetch soon:
It was great to see so many different styles and creations on the night from everyone, lots influences from around the world which translated nicely through the workshop and from peoples personalities. The Shoe Surgeon and his team were true professionals on the night and are sure to become more of a household name in the years to come. I gave a brief introduction before Dominic Chambrone aka The Shoe Surgeon took the audience through his history and what led him into the world of sneaker re-purposing (bit of an awkward looking pic of me).
I didn’t have a pair of sneakers myself but helped work on a pair of Y3 Yohji Yamamoto Boosts, which turned out very well in the end, see below:
It was a great opportunity to meet some of the most influential fashion & sneaker bloggers/vloggers/influencers from across the world, thanks to all those who attended and watch this space for the next one!
